March 7, 2017 (5:30-8:30pm) Herbal and Goat Milk Soap Making This class is full. Feel free to call to be put on the waiting list!

Join herbalist Linda Conroy for this fun, hands-on soap-making workshop. Start out learning the basics and then dive into a hands-on experience, making soap you will take home. Make soap with herbs, as well as fresh goat’s milk. Everyone will go home with 6-9 bars of soap made in class, along with the instructions and recipes for making soap at home. March 8, 2017 (6-8:00pm) Home Creamery: Mold Ripen Cheese

Join veteran home cheesemaker Linda Conroy as we learn to add mold to cheese. We will make and sample a simple mold ripened goat cheese that can easily be replicated at home. March 18, 2017 (11am-5pm) Introduction to Home Cheese Making

Join herbalist Linda Conroy for this fun day of cheese making. Learn how simple it is to make cheese in your own kitchen. We will create and sample several simple cheeses that can be cultivated at home, including cultured butter, feta cheese, mozzarella, and several varieties of soft cheese and fermented milk products. You can build on this introduction to create many other varieties of cheese. You will go home with some of the cheese we make in class and a culture to get started at home. A light lunch of salad, cheese, bread, and butter that we make in class will be provided. Bring your own beverage, plate, and utensils. We will explore the art of creating luxurious soap that incorporates fresh goat milk (cow as well as whey will also be discussed). In addition we will learn to incorporate whole herbs from the garden to create unique batches of soap. Participants will take home recipes as well as some of the soap we create in class. April 30, 2017 Herbal First Aid: Make Your Own Kit Workshop 1-5pm Join herbalist Linda Conroy to learn the basics of herbal first aid and discover which plants are helpful for addressing minor cuts, scrapes, bug bites, and more. This workshop includes a walk through Olbrich’s outdoor gardens to see some of the plants up close. You will make an insect repellent, antiseptic/healing spray, a healing ointment, and an herbal extract for your first aid kit. We will learn about common and uncommon wild plants that can be used for food and medicine. Identification techniques as well as ways to prepare plants for optimal nutrition and healing will be discussed. Dress appropriately for the weather and wear comfortable walking shoes. This class will take place at Pheasant Branch Conservancy, 4864 Pheasant Branch Road, Middleton. Meet in the Conservancy parking lot; the tour leaves promptly at 10:00am. May 7, 2017 Wild Food & Wild Medicine Hands on Fun! 10am-4pm Join herbalist and wild forager Linda Conroy for this fun and inspiring class. We will begin the day by taking an herb walk on the perimeters of Olbrich’s gardens, the place where wild things are. We will continue the day with a set of projects focused on wild food. We will create pesto with wild greens, wild pickles, a wild salad, and a wild plant infused vinegar. Some of these will be included in our lunch and participants will take some of their creations home. After lunch, you will learn to create simple herbal remedies for future use. The afternoon will include several hands-on projects, including crafting a bug repellent, a healing lotion, an oxymel (vinegar syrup), and a simple honey-based lozenge. You will leave with recipes, information about using the various preparations, and inspiration for continuing your own wild plant journey. For lunch, a wild salad and dressing that we prepare together will be provided, along with infused herbal beverages. If you would like something additional, please bring a bag lunch with you. July 30-Augsut 3, 2017 Women’s Rock Island Herbal Camping Trip Join herbalist and wild crafter Linda Conroy for this amazing journey on a primitive island located off of the tip of Door County peninsula in Lake Michigan. Cars and even bikes are not allowed on the 912-acre island, making for an experience unlike any other. There are 10 miles of hiking trails, including a one-mile interpretive trail and 5,000 feet of beach. This herbal intensive will offer an opportunity to connect deeply with the plants on this remote island. Participants will hike the island, commune with green allies and enjoy camping right along the lake. For more information click here.
