The Most Important Meal: Breakfast

This morning as I ate breakfast, I was thinking about how important breakfast is.i often hear from clients and students that they either don’t eat breakfast or they ingest sugary foods. Breakfast sets the stage for the day and for overall metabolism. I often brainstorm with folks about how they can realistically ingest protein, greens, antioxidants, vitamins and minerals as well as pro and probiotics in the morning. What I ate this morning is a good example. I retried wild rice, with sautéed onions, garlic, kale, seaweed and mushrooms (last nights dinner)with farm fresh egg and a bit of carrot kraut all topped with homemade gamashio. I drank nettle infusion and a yogurt shake w/ applesauce and Aronia berries. This contains good protein, a wide spectrum of vitamins and minerals, pre/pro biotic, antioxidants and much more! Plus it is all delicious. This is the most important meal of the day. This style of eating will give you plenty of energy to start the day. You can make it your own, by brainstorming the principles, not necessarily mimicking the meal exactly. Happy breakfast eating.
